Numerous activities that reflect revitalization for the City and for the arts are planned a year in advance.

Section A: Hallet Oak Gallery Monthly Activities, Current and Proposed     

Supporting Emerging and Diverse Artists:(Past and Present) Meet the Artist Every Saturday Morning, Spotlight on the Arts Every Saturday Afternoon.  Exhibits of work by local, international, and upcoming artists selected by a panel of curating art experts

Fostering Art Appreciation:  (Past and Present) Art Appreciation Movies and Lectures - free ongoing education series to the public 

​Bringing in Interesting Expert Speakers:   (Past and Present) Monthly Lunch & Learns Priced for Senior Citizen, nominal fee to cover some of the cost for speaker

Continuing Arts Education through Curricula and Leisure Learning: (Past and Present)   To collaborate and donate supplies needed to create art, to offer scholarships and recognition to talented students and individuals. (Planned)  Support curriculum as needed working with surrounding schools. (Past and Present) Oil painting is taught every Tuesday evening from 6 PM to 9 PM, and acrylic painting twice a month on Friday's. Photography classes in June. (Planned) Watercolor classes, crafts, pottery, floral design, and guitar classes in the evening. 

Encouraging Disciplined Creativity:  (Past and Present)  Art Contests, nominal entry fees with awards and recognition to winners

Planning Free Community Events: (Past and Present)   Free to the public such as Halloween jack-o-lantern contest and School Christmas ornament fund-raising
 
Engaging the Disadvantaged: (Past and Present) Offering nursing homes, and low-income community members - offer free wall art, or art loans, donations and trips to events
 
Providing Activities for Active Seniors:   (Planned) Art Activities during the day for seniors, free for seniors,
 
Maintaining Evolving Gallery Art Exhibit and Collection: (Past and Present) Artworks for sale, but not to exceed educational activities and free public exhibits and receptions. Collection of artist’s works.

Downtown Musical Performances: - (Past and Present)  Music Night featuring original songwriters, nominal fee with encouraging new upcoming artist, discounts for seniors, including (Planned) Student classical performances during the daytime 

Extend Benefit of a Historical Location:  (Past and Present)  Nominal rental fee private events and for community events (Free)

Encouraging Leadership through Committees: (Past and Present) Welcoming and Beautification Committee

Training Docents for Informative Tours: (Past and Present) 28 hours a week to answer question, free to public 
 
Honoring and Promoting Hallettsville’s Uniqueness: (Present and Planned) Walking tours, or guided tours with peddle car, minimal fee
 
Planning Conferences around Art & History: (Past and Present)  Historical conferences with book signings, with nominal fees to cover some expenses and offering discounts to seniors, teachers, and students
 
Planning Free Community Events: - (Past and Present) Holiday and Cultural Events, such as Halloween, Juneteenth, Chriskindlmarkt)  (Planned) e.g.  snow machine, all free to public
 
Hallettsville Christkindlmarkt:  (Past and Present)  cultural music, free to public, annual event
 
Encouraging Community Improvements:  (Past and Present)  Seek funding, team work for encouraging and making improvements downtown, i.e.: community arts, public art, or beautification projects
 
Promoting Welcoming Committees (Past and Present) To help welcome tourist, visitors, and newcomers, and business to the area through welcome baskets, and social gatherings

To revitalize the City of Hallettsville through arts and culture.

Hallet Oak Foundation  - Revitalization through Art and Culture.
Our Executive Board, Advisory Board purpose is to be a part of it.


Hours

Open to the Public on every Saturday 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Free entry to see artworks, historic timeline and scavenger hunts for children. See calendar  for seven summer art and photography camps. Oil painting classes are taught every Tuesdays afternoon and evenings. Tours for Schools and Tourist Buses are available by appointment throughout the week.
